Belly and chest depilation

Laser belly and chest depilation?: How to Effectively Treat Hair?

A light fuzz on the umbilical line in women or abundant hair in men, the hairs on the belly are no longer at the wedding. Complex for some and unsightly for others, chest and stomach hair can quickly become a nuisance. Thus, many people now use laser hair removal. Focus on this procedure which allows to get rid of a very developed hair on the belly and torso.

Belly and chest depilation: the technique

Laser hair removal is a technique aimed at progressively eliminating hair by destroying its root, the bulb. It is the energy of the laser, transformed into heat by the melanin contained in the hair, which destroys it and stops hair regrowth. Thus, session after session, the hair disappears.

Several reasons can thus push men and women to have recourse to laser depilation of the torso and stomach:

Aesthetics: in men, excessive hair on the torso and stomach can sometimes be unsightly. In women, on the other hand, too much hair at the umbilical line can be linked to masculinity and be a source of discomfort.
Hygienic: bacteria, germs and other impurities can become lodged in the hair and be the cause of bad body odour, particularly in the armpits.
Practical: no razor or waxing session, laser hair removal totally frees you from this chore.
Medical: shaving after shaving, the skin is attacked and leaves ingrown hairs and folliculitis to appear. Thus, laser hair removal allows the hair to soften and avoid irritation.

Belly and chest depilation: the session

For women, it takes between 6 and 8 sessions of belly hair removal to get rid of hair at the umbilical line. The sessions are spaced about 6 weeks apart, while the hair regrowth is visible. Each session lasts between 15 and 20 minutes.

For men, laser hair removal sessions of the abdomen and torso are longer. On average, 8 to 10 sessions of 30 minutes to one hour are needed to obtain a satisfactory result.

A first consultation is always necessary before any belly and torso hair removal session. It allows the doctor to know your history as well as your expectations regarding the procedure. He will examine your hair and skin and determine the intensity of the laser during this first visit.

On the day of the procedure, the practitioner checks your skin and hair and looks for possible lesions and signs of herpes on the treatment area. Wearing protective eyewear is mandatory for both the doctor and you. After adjusting the device, the practitioner scans the area using a handpiece that will emit light pulses.

After the operation, the specialist applies a moisturizing and soothing cream to the depilated area. This helps to reduce the pain, but also to reduce any redness that may appear.

The results

Over the course of the sessions, regrowth becomes slower and slower and the hair becomes finer and finer.

It is important to know that after the treatment, about 90% of the hairs do not grow back. This is why annual maintenance sessions are to be planned in order to eliminate small regrowths.

In most cases, the results of chest and belly hair removal are very satisfactory.
