Thigh Liposuction

Thigh liposuction: How to remove the saddlebags?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure for the removal of fat deposits located in different parts of the body. Thigh liposuction therefore allows the removal of excess fat from the thighs in a circular manner. This operation thus gives a harmonious and definitive result and reshapes your silhouette.

Thigh liposuction: Which technique?

Liposuction allows you to reshape your thighs. The result obtained is then in harmony with the rest of your silhouette. Liposuction is by no means a way to significantly reduce your weight.

It is therefore an intervention that allows you to get rid of recalcitrant fat that resists dieting or regular exercise. Thus, thigh liposuction makes it possible to treat the inner and outer sides of your thighs, but also the anterior and posterior sides.

Gentle liposuction is recommended when the skin of the thighs is fragile to avoid a “corrugated iron” effect or when the fat mass is small and does not require major surgery.

Thigh Liposuction: process of the operation

Before a thigh liposuction the surgeon will see you during a first consultation. This will allow him to determine if you are a good candidate for thigh liposuction.

The operation then proceeds in different stages:

  • The surgeon first delineates the areas to be treated with a surgical felt pen. He then injects a liquid that allows him to liquefy the fat. This solution facilitates the aspiration of fat.
  • A foam cannula with a perforated tip is then introduced through small incisions hidden in the natural folds of the skin. The surgeon then makes back and forth movements to aspirate the fat through the cannulas.
  • Once the fat cells have been aspirated, the surgeon closes the incisions with absorbable threads and covers the wounds with a bandage.

Thigh Liposuction: anaesthesia, duration, hospitalization

A thigh liposuction lasts between 1 and 2 hours depending on the volume of fat to be removed.

In general, a general anaesthetic is necessary to perform a thigh liposuction. Nevertheless, it is possible to perform an epidural anesthesia or even a local anesthesia depending on the extent of the area to be treated. The type of anaesthesia will be chosen in agreement with your anaesthetist and your surgeon.

This procedure can be done on an outpatient basis, but a day in hospital may be necessary. This will depend on the amount of fat that has been removed.

The results

At the end of the operation, you will be able to see the first results of your thigh liposuction. The thighs are then visibly thinner and reshaped. However, you will have to wait about three to six months to see the final result, the time it takes for the swelling and bruising to subside and for the skin to retract.

You will need to see your surgeon regularly for a follow-up consultation. This will allow him to see the evolution of the results and any imperfections. Finally, you will have to wait about twelve months to see the scars fade and hide in the natural folds of your skin.

Today, thigh liposuction offers spectacular results. Thus, by respecting a healthy lifestyle and having a balanced diet, you will keep thin thighs and a harmonious silhouette. The thighs are better shaped and appear visibly less fat around the circumference, while the deformation of the horse’s breeches has disappeared.
